Global and Indigenous health research examines the sociocultural, political, and historical factors that contribute to disparities between populations in Canada and globally.

These disparities include racism, colonialism and neocolonialism, systemic and structural violence, environment, economics, education, the health labour force, labour market gaps, communicable and noncommunicable diseases, mental health and illness, forced migration and natural disasters. Our research, in partnership with communities and collaborators, incorporates diverse forms of knowledge and builds local capacity.
