- Leads efforts to support institute strategic plans, focused on achievement and evaluation
- Supports boards, fosters research collaboration, facilitates large interdisciplinary grant initiatives
- Manages the allocation of financial, human, and physical resources to support the goals of research institutes
- Collaborates with other research leaders to develop, implement and monitor processes to support the success of institutes, and to identify opportunities for improvements
