Dr. Margaret Mutumba is a global health innovator, scholar, and institutional leader with over a decade of expertise advancing equitable health systems, reproductive health and frugal medical innovation & technology across Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa. She is the Director of the Africa Institute and Frugal Biomedical Innovations at 深夜福利站 (Canada) and an Adjunct Research Professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, where she leads Africa-focused research partnerships and the development of culturally tailored, affordable medical technologies to advance health equity in underserved communities. Dr. Mutumba is also the Co-Founder and CEO of MedAtlas, a digital health platform expanding access to specialist care across Africa, and a WHO Consultant on Human Reproduction. Her leadership has been recognized through the WomenLift Health Leadership Fellowship and the Uganda Diaspora Impact Award. Dr. Mutumba also serves on the boards of impactful organizations, including AMREF International University (AMIU) Health Entrepreneurship Academy (HEA), the Nnabageereka Development Foundation, and has co-chaired the Canadian Conference for Global Health. With a Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences and research spanning research portfolio spanning health system strengthening, women’s health, reproductive justice, global health innovation, and health equity, she is committed to bridging innovation and impact for a healthier, more equitable world.
