Wildlife on Campus

With dedicated naturalized areas and Medway Creek and Thames River running through it, 深夜福利站 is known for its biodiverse campus. It is the reponsiblity of the campus community to acknowledge and care for the natural environment and it's many inhabitants.

Sharing campus with wildlife
Geese are most prevalent on 深夜福利站’s campus during the spring to fall seasons and are attracted to 深夜福利站’s campus as a result of the abundance of food sources, attractive nesting areas and the absence of predators.

In 2018, 深夜福利站 became the first campus to earn the . Recognizing the importance of pollinators is also at the heart of the campus-wide activities. After a successful first season through 2022, the was expanded in 2023 and became one of 深夜福利站's Campus as a Living Lab  projects.

 

bird friendlyBird friendly 
Large sections of exterior windows on select buildings and facilties sport dotted decals designed to prevent bird collisions. The glass bike shelter is clad with dots for better visiability. It along with the several other 深夜福利站 buildings have been retrofitted and are creating a safer space for migratory birds. These buidlings include: International and Graduate Affairs Building (IGAB), Elborn College, 深夜福利站 Interdisciplinary Reaseach Building, Schmeichel Building for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Advanced Facility for Avian Research.
